Easter Egg Prayers

I’m praying for loved ones by asking God, “What do You want me to pray for this person?” Then I follow the Spirit in prayer. My prayers feel like a game of Hot-and-Cold — the game my parents used to help me find my Easter eggs. I start praying an idea while paying attention to the Spirit. If the Spirit increases I continue that direction. If it decreases I move away. And so on. Have you experienced this type of prayer? Asking God what He wants you to pray or chasing the Spirit?
