Leading the Flock

In the past I believed that a leader was “the best” of the group. But Jesus turns that upside down. He says a leader is the servant of all. I'm coming to see that a religious leader is really like the head goose in a migration. She’s the goose who is willing to part the air, or break the headwind, for the rest of the geese, making it possible for the flock to journey thousands of miles with less fatigue.

What other cultural assumptions are turned upside-down in the kingdom of God?
