Turn the Other Cheek

I’ve always thought Jesus’ teaching to “turn the other cheek” meant to walk away, to back down from conflict. But recently God showed me turning the other cheek means to transform a situation with love. How do you respond to conflict? Do you turn passive? Aggressive? What does it look like to transform a contentious situation with love?
