Wrote Prayer

Lately I’ve had some great experiences praying a written prayer, such as The Lord’s Prayer. Instead of reciting it mindlessly, I pray it with intent. I elaborate on the ideas of the prayer and I incorporate the related yearnings of my heart. Most of all, I follow the spirit as it suggests what to pray. I find that the words come alive, my heart is pulled toward God, and I’m praying the things that are most important. What do your prayers look like? What pattern are they modeled after? Have you tried praying scripture? What are your experiences?
