Unstuck

I’ve been praying about a problem and haven’t heard anything back from God. I got curious and asked Him about His will instead of asking for mine. Then I heard Him again. Do you feel stuck with something you are praying about? Can you get curious and ask God what He wants to do about it?

Video transcript (edited):

I’ve been struggling with a problem recently that I really wanted God to fix. This problem was kind of difficult. It was something that I probably could fix myself, but it would take a lot of time and effort and I thought that maybe I could give it to God and let Him resolve it for me. So I prayed about it several times but I didn’t feel anything. I tried asking several different ways and I tried asking several different things. I tried questions like, “Will You help me with this?,” “Will You not help me with this?,” or “Do You want me to do this on my own?” Nothing worked. I didn’t feel anything, as in the absence of the spirit.

Finally, as I told my husband about it, I clued in to that “absence of the spirit” part! That is clarity! Absence of the spirit means I’m on the wrong path. So I got curious and looked for other paths. Last night I ended up praying, “OK, God. Here is this situation in my life. Asking to get rid of it or to fix it is not working. So, what do You want me to learn from this? What do You want to happen with this?”

Those questions opened the windows of heaven! It’s like there was an umbrella blocking me and those questions closed up the umbrella. God was there, and I was able to hear Him again. God answered my prayer. He didn’t solve the problem, but He gave me some direction. I feel much happier and so grateful.

So my question for you today is, do you feel stuck with something you are praying about? Can you find a different approach or a different way of thinking about it? Can you get curious and ask God what He wants to do about it? I think questions about God’s will are probably extra powerful. I’m going to try to remember that next time.

I hope you are having a good day!

Keep shining!
